“Emotional Effusion”- Drawings and Paintings by Chuck Tingley

On February 5th, 2010, from 6-11pm, 464 Gallery on Amherst Street announces the first solo show from local emerging artist Chuck Tingley.  The opening reception will feature dozens of new works from the artist. Complimentary food wine and beer will be available until it runs out. Free parking is available. This event is free and open to the public.

“My series, Emotional Effusion, is an exploration of an unrestrained outpouring of feelings, thoughts, and behavior. My paintings go beyond the skin to evoke certain emotions. Through paint, I explore the physical characteristics of an individual and dig deeper to get to and express one's core emotion. The outcome is a realistic approach to the form, surrounded by an abstraction of colors. I want the viewer to experience these raw feelings, right down to the physiological changes.” –Chuck Tingley, artist

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Chuck Tingley is a promising young talent currently working towards his BFA in painting at Buffalo State College. Tingley has been gaining attention on the strength of his unique and emotionally profound style of artwork. He explores the human figure and its correlation to emotion, taking a single moment in time and abstracting the feeling that comes with it.

The exhibition is an opportunity to introduce this emerging artist’s new line of work, and also gives each and every viewer the chance to indulge in a moment of self-reflection. For more information on Chuck Tingley HERE.
